Wearing a blazer doesn’t have to mean business, and it certainly doesn’t have to be boring either! In this blog post, fashion designer MollyKate walks us through 5 different ways you can style a blazer to make it fun, and give you outfit inspiration!

For a professional look, wear your blazer with a button down shirt. You can also french tuck your shirt by tucking it in at the front between your front two belt loops, and leaving it untucked around the sides and back. If you want to still look casual – pair this look with jeans!
Take the look up a notch, by wearing a chunky statement necklace. Tucking the necklace under your collar looks professional, too. Have fun with this, and make the look uniquely yours!

One of the best ways to transform a blazer look, is to take an oversized blazer and belt it! This jacket and belt combination works great with a pair of pants, skirt or even a dress. You can make this look as casual or dressy as you want!

Want a super fun way to make a statement? Match your blazer with matching slacks! Oftentimes, these are sold separately at clothing stores. If you find a jacket you like while shopping, ask if they have any matching pants or even a matching skirt. If you have any solid colored blazers in your closet, wear it shopping and try to find a similar colored pair of pants to match! There’s something that feels so powerful about wearing a pantsuit, and it will make a statement in any room!

Just in time for fall! This might be my favorite on the list because not only does this look professional, but it’s so comfy! Sweaters are a great item to buy secondhand, because they last long and are much more expensive brand new. This turtleneck, came from Goodwill for only $3 but was originally from Christopher & Banks for $65 (and yes, it still had the original tag on it!) Next time you go thrifting, look for blazers and turtlenecks you can pair together. In so many colors and prints, the opportunities are endless!
Pro tip: Fun earrings look GREAT with turtlenecks!

Okay – I lied when I said a turtleneck was my favorite thing to wear with a blazer. I think my all time favorite, is pairing an oversized blazer with a comfy tee! This is the best way to wear a blazer in a casual way. You can pull this off with slacks, jeans, and yes – even sneakers. For this look, I dress it up a bit with a pop of color in my lipstick to match my graphic tee. Have fun with this! Make this look true to you and your own personal style.
